I have quite a few favorite holiday movies but these are my top three! The challenge for today asked that I review my most favorite holiday movie but I couldn’t just pick one!

National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation
My most favorite movie without a doubt is National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation. Yes I am aware that I was only one at the time when the movie came out, I feel old saying that haha. I grew up watching with my family, every single Christmas. It was a staple like Christmas ham. It never gets old, it cracks me up every time I see it.

If you haven’t seen it, you need to go rent or buy it now. Trust me, it’ll be a holiday tradition once you watch it. The movie has a funny cast: Chevy Chase, Randy Quaid, Beverly D’Angelo, and Doris Roberts. I love the whole movie but the most memorable parts of the movie are when Randy Quaid is cleaning out his septic tank to his camper, and the scene were Chevy Chase is upset and venting to his family about the raise he never got. I am not going to write anymore about it because I don’t want to ruin it for those who haven’t seen it!

Home Alone 2: Lost in New York
My second all time favorite is Home Alone 2: Lost in New York. Out of the two Home Alone movies this one is my favorite. When I hear the intro to the movie it always reminds me of my childhood, especially the song Somewhere in my Memory. Reminds me of when my mom would bake pumpkin chocolate chip cookies during the holidays, listening to Alvin and the Chipmunks Christmas, and just being with my family.
“Oh, wouldn’t want to ruin your fun Mr. Cheap Skate!” – Kevin
Lastly, Elf with Will Ferrell. We’ve been watching Elf as a couple and now as a family since we got married back in 2009. It is definitely another one that will never get old, and never less funny. Will Ferrell is a hilarious actor and plays his character well. He never disappoints! This movie is fun for the entire family.
If I had to pick a favorite part of the movie it would definitely be the part where Buddy trying to hug the raccoon as soon as he got off the ice. Well maybe one more favorite scene, there is just so many! I like when he calls out the fake Santa and they end up brawling it out all over the toys and in front of the children.
“Santa! Oh my god! Santa’s coming! I know him! I know him!” – Buddy
