My holiday plans for this year!
Family coming to town:
Nothing fancy. My brother is driving up from Valdosta, Georgia to spend a few days with us. It’s been a yearly tradition since we’ve moved to the east coast. My sister-in-law, two nieces, and my mother-in-law will be making their way down from Long Island, New York on Christmas day.

We’re going to have a full house!
We also have plans on going to my brother-in-law’s house for Christmas Eve. It’s really nice having family 30 minutes away in Jacksonville. Both our youngest ones are pretty close in age so it’ll be fun to see them get into mischief once baby David starts crawling and walking.
Christmas movies and baking galore!
“Merry Christmas ya filthy animal!”
Every Christmas we end up watching our most favorite Christmas movies: Home Alone, Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, Elf, Christmas Vacation, Four Christmases, Polar Express, and The Grinch! I love getting cozy on the couch, warm blankets, and a bucket of popcorn.
When my in laws are in town we usually bake cookies together. Last time we got together we tried to make these Christmas cookies off of Pinterest. Wasn’t very successful lol. They didn’t come out the way the recipe intended.
I might make the Pumpkin Chocolate chip cookies I shared on Day 7: My Favorite Holiday Recipes. They were to die for! I couldn’t just eat one. Our oldest JJ really enjoyed making gingerbread cookies so I’m definitely adding that to the list of Christmas festivities.
As you can see our Christmas festivities are pretty low key. We love to spend our time with family in the warmth of our home. Drinking lots of hot chocolate, eating baked goodies, and snuggling on the couch. I am super excited to be hosting our first Christmas in our new home.
How do you plan on spending your Christmas?
